The weekday features a world facing the H1N1 pandemic, the economy is bumpy and it seems as if everyone has an axe to grind.
Then the weekend arrives and the girls have their tarian practice, there's bicycle rides in the evenings and badminton reserved for classic comic video moments too. Piano lessons and impromptu dancing. Ikesha is beginning to find her rhythm.
The girls get to sleep with us and there's storytelling before bedtime. Or Nanny Mc Phee. Or Langkasuka. Or Sound of Music which still makes me teary. Breakfast at Medan where the girls attract the attentions of the boys and Rudi gets the stares from the young ladies. Taekwondo for Irani. Groceries for everyone. Hair cut and shampoo for everybody once a month. maybe a picnic at Templars park or a movie.
Dinner together and hugs and preparation for school again. Daddy clips the little girls nails.
And whispered gossip, reminders and kiss kiss kiss for 5 girls before they go to bed.
What would we do without weekends?
If I could turn back the clock
